The Ohingaroa Bay Cabin is ideally situated for travelers wishing to take day walks or mountain bike the Queen Charlotte Track. Water taxis link to several points of access to Queen Charlotte walkway and Kenepuru Road. Mountain bikes are available for hire in the area.
Fishing charter can be arranged for you, or use the dinghy available with your accommodation. Kayaks can also be hired in the area. Mussels and Oysters can be gathered from the rocks at either end of the beach. Ohingaroa Bay is also home to the uniquely New Zealand and internationally acclaimed Waterways Boating Safaris – a refreshing eco-tour with a difference.

Walk from Anakiwa to Mistletoe Bay on the Queen Charlotte Track (13kms) Magnificent views of the open bays and native bush. We will then pick you up at 3pm to cruise you back to Anakiwa.
Torea (Portage) to Punga Cove.(24kms) this boasts some spectacular scenery with views over both the Queen Charlotte and Kenepuru Sounds. Very challenging but very rewarding. Pick up from Punga Cove at 4.15pm for your transport back to Torea.
